Meet the Team


  • Founder/CEO

    Shamere Duncan is the founder and creative force behind She So Detroit—a jewelry and lifestyle brand grounded in her love for Detroit, her passion for storytelling, and her belief in the power of small, intentional creations. A proud Renaissance High School alum and a Wayne State University student graduating in May 2026 from the Mike Ilitch School of Business, Shamere has always carried Detroit’s grit, brilliance, and creativity with her.

    Her path has been shaped by deep youth engagement and leadership experience. She currently serves in Mayor Duggan’s administration, leading Youth Engagement for the City of Detroit. She has also served as a 2025 Kresge Intern, a member of the Skillman Foundation’s Youth Council, and part of BasBlue’s Gen Z Committee. Her work with young people and community impact has earned her several recognitions and accolades across the city.

    At 22, she transformed her lived experiences—growing up on the west side and learning early lessons in service while working at the Old Redford Food Center on Grand River and Lahser—into She So Detroit. Through handcrafted jewelry like the Detroit Butterfly Necklace, interactive Charm Bars, and community-centered activations, Shamere creates joyful, accessible, art-driven experiences for women and youth.

    Everything she builds is rooted in purpose: uplifting women, inspiring self-expression, and honoring the Detroit neighborhoods that shaped her.

    Lessley Romero Rodriguez is a Detroit-based creative and community builder with a passion for storytelling, design, and intentional brand experiences. As a key part of She So Detroit’s growing team, she supports visual branding, event operations, and customer experience, helping bring the company’s mission of creativity, culture, and community impact to life.

    Known for her eye for detail and warm community-centered approach, Lessley brings a unique blend of artistic talent and organizational strength to every project. She is committed to uplifting women-led ventures and contributing to Detroit’s thriving creative landscape.
